Chalk on the Walk
Tuesday, August 1 • All Day • Main Street
Decorate the sidewalks of downtown Bozeman with your own artwork! Chalk on the Walk is a favorite way for children and adults to express themselves during the Festival of the Arts. Create your own artistic statement on Main Street between Grand and Broadway. Chalk will be handed out from 9:30-10:30 am in the Jacobs Crossing lobby at 424 E Main St. Many Downtown Bozeman businesses want you to decorate their Walk and will also be handing out chalk – look for signs in their windows showing their participation.

The FUN starts here! Following the success of recent years, the Sweet Pea Children’s 1K Run will lead the Sweet Pea Parade. What a great way for your family to spend its Saturday morning! The race begins at 10:00am sharp at Main Street and 8th Avenue and ends at Main Street and Church Ave.
The day of the race, runners are asked to be at the staging area/start by 9:45am. An information sheet will be handed out with race numbers at registration; please read it with your child. For more information, please contact the Bozeman Parks and Recreation Department at 582-2290.

Sweet Pea Run
Saturday, August 5 • 7:15 am (10k) & 7:25 am (5k) • Main St.
It’s back and as fun as ever! The Sweet Pea Run, a Bozeman running tradition, will be held Saturday, August 5 with the 10k starting at 7:15am and the 5k at 7:25am. This great community event, brought to you by the Big Sky Wind Drinkers, is one of the oldest running races in Bozeman and offers something for everyone– from competitive runners to families looking for a little outdoor exercise. Click here for more info and to register online.
Both races start and finish on Main Street and offer a great way to see a slice of what Bozeman has to offer. Start your tour in historic downtown and then over to one of Bozeman’s many great trails (5k), or check out what happens on Sweet Pea Festival grounds early in the morning as you race past Lindley Park, up to the expansive views of the Bridger range and down the hill to MSU (10k) and back to downtown.
The Run offers a multitude of great prizes. Top finishers from each race can receive cash prizes, running shoes or other great accessories. Divisions like Masters, Open, Clydesdale and Athena, as well as age group divisions, offer a number of other ways for racers to “take home the prize!”
Remember, please leave dogs at home and if you are bringing a stroller, please line up toward the back.
