Cloud Cult began as Craig Minowa’s solo studio project, and over the course of ten studio albums the band has grown with an evolving lineup of talented musicians and artists. Cloud Cult has received accolades from MTV, Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone who attempts to describe their unique sound as, “The instrumental arsenal of the Arcade Fire mixed with the gentle electronic throb of the Postal Service.” The New York Times goes on to state the band is “A sprawling kaleidoscopic invocation of the life force with songs that veer from jubilation to simmering prayerful meditation.” Over the nearly two decades of existence they have had several albums at the top of the college radio charts. Staying true to their roots they have declined major record label deals in favor of staying independent with their company Earthology Records.
Most recently in late 2016 they produced quite possibly their greatest work yet called The Seeker which also accompanies a film of the same name. The film has won numerous awards on the film festival circuit and Cloud Cult has begun to perform live with the film as there is no dialogue in the film. The Seeker (film) will be playing at The Ellen Theater immediately after The Bite of Bozeman at 8:30 pm. The film screening is free to the public so get there early to ensure a seat.
